🟢 Applications are open as of today — 20 July 2026. Last date to apply is 10 August 2026. Mining Sirdar applicants must hold DGMS-issued certificates (Mining Sirdar Certificate of Competency or Overman Competency Certificate) before applying — these cannot be obtained after the fact. Assistant Foreman applicants need a 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering and a valid Electrical Supervisory Certificate for Mines.

⚠ What is DGMS?

DGMS = Directorate General of Mines Safety — the statutory authority under the Ministry of Labour & Employmentresponsible for safety in coal and metalliferous mines across India. DGMS issues mandatory competency certificates like the Mining Sirdar Certificate and the Overman Certificate, which are legally required to work in supervisory roles in underground mines. Candidates without valid DGMS certificates are NOT eligible for the Mining Sirdar post.

ROUTE A — EXPERIENCE-BASED

• ✔ Valid Mining Sirdar Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS

• ✔ Valid Gas Testing Certificate

• ✔ Valid First-Aid Certificate

• ✔ 3 years of experience working in Underground Mines

OR

ROUTE B — DIPLOMA-BASED

• ✔ Diploma in Mining Engineering from any Govt-recognised institute

• ✔ Valid Overman Competency Certificate issued by DGMS

• ✔ Valid Gas Testing Certificate

• ✔ Valid First-Aid Certificate

⚡ Post 2 — Assistant Foreman (Trainee) Electrical / Electrical Supervisor, T&S Grade-C (224 Posts)

• ✔ Diploma in Electrical Engineering (minimum 3-year course) from any Govt-recognised institute

• ✔ Valid Electrical Supervisory Certificate for Mines issued by the Appropriate Government

Key point for Mining Sirdar candidates: Both Route A and Route B require DGMS-issued certificates (Gas Testing + First-Aid mandatory in both routes). Route A additionally needs 3 years of underground mine experience. Route B needs an Overman Certificate from DGMS in place of the experience requirement. Verify which DGMS certificates you currently hold before selecting a route.
