Paper 1 — Primary (Class 1–5)
Any ONE of the following:
12th Pass + 2-year D.El.Ed (DElEd/BTC) from NCTE-recognized institute
12th Pass with 50%+ marks + 4-year B.El.Ed
Graduation + 2-year D.El.Ed (DElEd/BTC)
Graduation + B.Ed (with bridge course as per NCTE norms)
Paper 2 — Upper Primary (Class 6–8)
Any ONE of the following:
Graduation with 50%+ marks + 2-year B.Ed from NCTE-recognized institute
Graduation with 45%+ marks + 1-year B.Ed (NCTE 2002 rules)
4-year B.El.Ed from recognized university
Graduation + 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)
📋 Can apply for both papers if eligible for both. Final year D.El.Ed / B.Ed students may apply provisionally — must produce degree before appointment.

Once you qualify UPTET, you never need to appear again to maintain eligibility. Earlier it was 5 years; now changed permanently.

Number system · Basic operations · Geometry · Data handling · Measurement · Fractions 💡 NCERT Class 1–5 Maths. Concept-based, not calculation-heavy.
Environmental Studies (EVS) (30M)
Family & community · Environment & nature · Science basics · Social science basics · EVS pedagogy 💡 NCERT EVS Class 3–5 + pedagogy theory. Scoring and straightforward.
📖 Paper 2 has same sections except EVS is replaced by Science/Social Science (60 Qs) based on your subject specialization. Pedagogy weight increases in Paper 2.

❌ Skip/Wait If...
• B.Ed/D.El.Ed not started yet — apply after completing the course • Targeting private schools only — UPTET not required everywhere • Targeting central schools (KVS, NVS) — CTET is needed, not UPTET

UPTET certificate ek lifelong asset hai. UP mein sarkari school teacher banna hai toh yeh compulsory hai — aur yeh certificate ek baar qualify karo toh lifetime kaam aata hai. 4 saal baad aa raha hai — mat chuko. Apply immediately at upessc.up.gov.in.
⚠️ Critical Instructions
OTR (One-Time Registration) is mandatory in 2026— complete it FIRST before filling the main form. Form submitted without OTR will be rejected.
Last date extended to 3 May 2026. Correction window is 1 May 2026— both close within days. Apply today, don't wait.
Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 can be attempted on the same day (different shifts) if eligible for both.
Fee payment via ICICI Bank online or SBI ePay only. No offline challan or DD accepted.
No negative marking in either paper — attempt all 150 questions. Leaving blank = lost marks.
Already qualified in UPTET? You can still re-appear to improve your score — unlimited attempts allowed.
