South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), one of India's largest coal-producing companies and a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), released the SECL Grade C recruitment notification (Advt. SECL/HR/MP/Recruitment/2026/166) on 8 April 2026. A total of 1,055 vacancies were announced for 3 posts — Mining Sirdar (577), Deputy Surveyor (43), and Assistant Foreman Electrical (435) — on a regular basis across SECL's mines and establishments in Chhattisgarh. The application window has closed on 14 May 2026. Selection is through a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 100 questions with no negative marking. ⚠️ Statutory Certificates Mandatory: Mining Sirdar needs valid DGMS Mining Sirdar Certificate of Competency + Gas Testing Certificate + First Aid Certificate. Dy. 🎯 Selection Process

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) ⭐ Most Critical Stage

   100 MCQs · 100 marks · Bilingual (Hindi + English). Section A: 80 questions on discipline-specific technical knowledge (Mining / Surveying / Electrical). Section B: 20 questions on General Awareness, Aptitude, and knowledge of CIL/SECL. No negative marking — attempt all 100 questions. CBT merit determines shortlisting for Document Verification.
   

2. Document Verification (DV) Qualifying

   Shortlisted candidates called for DV. All original certificates verified — education, DGMS certificates (Mining Sirdar / Surveyor), age proof, category certificate, Matriculation certificate. Any discrepancy = disqualification.
   

3. Medical Examination Qualifying

   Pre-employment medical at SECL designated hospital. Mining posts have specific medical fitness standards (vision, hearing, physical fitness for underground work).

⚠️ Critical Instructions for Applied Candidates

• DGMS certificates are mandatory. Mining Sirdar without valid Mining Sirdar's Certificate of Competency (Unrestricted) + Gas Testing Certificate + First Aid Certificate = candidature cancelled at DV stage even if CBT cleared.

• Distance learning / part-time / correspondence degrees are NOT accepted for any post. Regular full-time programs only.

• PwBD candidates: Only 17 horizontal posts are reserved in Asst. Foreman (Electrical). PwBD is NOT applicable for Mining Sirdar or Dy. Surveyor posts.

• CBT exam date and admit card will be announced on secl-cil.in. Check the website and your registered email regularly.

• Fee once paid is non-refundable — even if SECL modifies or cancels vacancies. Keep your payment receipt.

• No negative marking in CBT — attempt all 100 questions including uncertain ones. Do not leave any blank.

• Section A (80 marks technical) is everything — your score here is what matters most. Revise DGMS regulations and relevant technical subjects daily.
