RPSC, Ajmer has released Advertisement No. 03/EXAM/APO/EP-I/2026-27 for 371 posts of Assistant Prosecution Officer under the Rajasthan Prosecution Subordinate Service, 1978 (Home Department, Prosecution). Applications open 08 June to 07 July 2026 at rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in. Selection is through Preliminary Exam (qualifying, 02 Sep 2026) followed by Main Exam. Prelim marks are NOT counted in final merit. LLB from a recognized university is mandatory. Working knowledge of Hindi in Devnagri script and Rajasthani culture required.

The Preliminary Examination is qualifying only — your prelim score does NOT contribute to the final selection merit. Only Main Examination marks count for final selection. You must still score minimum 40% (SC/ST: 35%) in Prelim to advance to Mains.

⚠️ Language Paper level = Senior Secondary. Law Paper = LLB level. Must appear in EVERY paper of the written test — absence from any paper = disqualification.

🎯 Selection Process — 4 Stages

1. Preliminary Examination Qualifying Only · 02 Sep 2026

   Objective type exam. 70% Law + 30% Language (Hindi/English). Minimum 40% qualifying (SC/ST: 35%). Prelim marks NOT counted in final merit. Shortlisted candidates advance to Mains.
   

2. Main Examination (Written) ⭐ Merit Deciding — 400 Marks

   Law Paper (300 marks) + Language Paper/General Hindi & English (100 marks). Must appear in every paper. Minimum 40% per paper required. Mains marks determine final selection merit list.
   

3. Document Verification Qualifying

   LLB degree, age proof, caste certificate (if applicable), Rajasthan domicile, and other original documents verified. Any discrepancy = disqualification.
   

4. Medical Examination

   Physical fitness assessment. Final appointment order issued after medical clearance. A Wait List may be maintained as per RPSC norms.

⚠️ Important Instructions

• Apply only via SSO portal at rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in. SSO ID required. Create one at sso.rajasthan.gov.in if not already registered. Apply link activates 08 June 2026.

• Do NOT change mobile number or email after submitting — all exam communications (admit card, result) sent to registered contact only.

• Correction window: till 17 July 2026. Use this for form errors. Correction charge ₹500 per field. No corrections after 17 July.

• Prelim is qualifying only — focus equal attention on Mains Law paper (300 marks) which determines final merit. Do not over-invest in Prelim preparation at cost of Mains.

• New criminal law codes (BNS 2023, BNSS 2023, BSA 2023) are part of the syllabus. These replaced IPC/CrPC/Evidence Act from 01 July 2024 — study the new laws thoroughly.

• OBC/EBC Non-Creamy Layer pay ₹400 fee, but Creamy Layer OBC/EBC pay ₹600. Check your current category certificate before paying.
