🟢 Applications Open — From 28 July 2026 | ⚡ GATE 2024 / 2025 / 2026 Score Mandatory · All Posts | 92 Posts · Electronics 34 · Mechanical 26 · CS 13 · Civil 11 | ISRO · ICRB · 'SC' Grade · isro.gov.in · Advt ISRO:ICRB:02(EMC-CEPO):2026

🟢 Applications are live from today — 28 July 2026. Last date: 17 August 2026 (20 days). Fee payment deadline is also 17 August 2026 (same day as apply close). ISRO Scientist/Engineer vacancies are among the most competitive in India — apply early and ensure your GATE score is valid (2024, 2025, or 2026 score accepted).

GATE Score is Non-Negotiable — Required for Every Post. All 8 post categories in this recruitment require a valid GATE 2024, 2025, or 2026 score in the relevant discipline. There is no alternative pathway. Without a valid GATE score, your application will be rejected regardless of your B.E./B.Tech. marks. GATE score is used for shortlisting — it replaces a written exam. Only GATE-shortlisted candidates are called for Interview. Check your GATE scorecard before applying — ensure it is for the correct paper (EC for Electronics, ME for Mechanical/R&AC, CS for Computer Science, etc.).

🚀 'SC' in Scientist/Engineer 'SC' — What Does It Mean?

'SC' is a grade designation at ISRO — it stands for Scientist/Engineer Grade SC, the entry-level scientist grade. It is NOT a reference to Scheduled Caste (SC) reservation category. ISRO's scientist hierarchy runs: SC → SD → SE → SF → SG → SH. The 'SC' grade is the starting point for fresh B.E./B.Tech. graduates entering ISRO. Candidates from all categories (General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST) can apply for Scientist/Engineer 'SC' grade posts.

🔵 BE004A — Civil (Autonomous Body PRL): What is PRL?

PRL = Physical Research Laboratory — an autonomous research institution under the Department of Space, Government of India. PRL is located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It is one of India's premier space and basic sciences research institutions, studying planetary sciences, astronomy, and space weather. The BE004A Civil post is for PRL, not for ISRO directly — though the selection is administered by ISRO/ICRB. If selected for BE004A, the candidate will be posted at PRL Ahmedabad, not at an ISRO centre.

GATE-Based Shortlisting

GATE 2024, 2025, or 2026 score in the relevant discipline is used to shortlist candidates for Interview. There is NO separate written examination — GATE score IS the screening test. ISRO sets discipline-wise cutoff marks based on the number of applications and available posts. A higher GATE score significantly increases your chances of being shortlisted, especially in high-competition disciplines (Electronics, Computer Science).

Interview Test

GATE-shortlisted candidates are called for a technical interview conducted by ISRO's discipline-wise expert panels. The interview tests domain knowledge, problem-solving ability, and suitability for ISRO's research and technical work. Venue and dates are announced post-shortlisting. Travel allowance (TA) is typically provided by ISRO for interview attendance — verify from the official notification.

Document Verification

B.E./B.Tech. degree certificate (or provisional), GATE scorecard (2024/2025/2026), age proof, category certificate (if applicable), and for BE007: Council of Architecture Registration Certificate. All documents verified at ISRO/ICRB before final selection.

Medical Examination

Physical fitness check as per ISRO/Department of Space service rules before appointment order is issued.

✍ How to Apply Online

  1. Before applying — verify: (1) Do you have a valid GATE 2024, 2025, or 2026 scorecard in the correct paper (EC/ME/CS/CE/EE/AR)? (2) Is your B.E./B.Tech. aggregate 65% or above (CGPA 6.84/10)? (3) Are you within the age limit as on 17 August 2026? (4) For BE007 — do you have a valid CoA Registration Certificate? If all checks pass, proceed.

  2. Visit isro.gov.in and navigate to the Scientist/Engineer Advt ISRO:ICRB:02(EMC-CEPO):2026 application link. Register with your email and mobile number.

  3. Fill in personal details, select your post code (BE001–BE007 or BE004A), enter your GATE registration number and score, and fill educational details (degree, branch, percentage/CGPA).

  4. Upload photograph and signature in the prescribed format. For BE007 (Architecture), upload your CoA Registration Certificate.

  5. Pay the fee: ₹250 (General/OBC/EWS) or ₹0 (SC/ST/PH/ESM/Female) via Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. Deadline: 17 August 2026. Submit and download the confirmation receipt — keep your GATE scorecard and application receipt safe for DV.

Question Icon

Is GATE score mandatory for ISRO Scientist/Engineer Recruitment 2026? Which GATE years are accepted?

Yes — a valid GATE score is mandatory for every post (BE001 to BE007 and BE004A). There is no alternative. ISRO accepts GATE scores from 2024, 2025, or 2026 — any one valid year's score in the relevant discipline is acceptable. GATE 2027 scores will NOT be valid for this recruitment. GATE score is used for initial shortlisting — there is no separate written exam. A higher GATE score improves your chances of shortlisting, especially for high-competition disciplines like Electronics and Mechanical. GATE paper must match the discipline: EC for Electronics, ME for Mechanical and R&AC, CS for Computer Science, CE for Civil, EE for Electrical, AR for Architecture.

Question Icon

What does 'SC' mean in Scientist/Engineer 'SC' — is it only for Scheduled Caste candidates?

No — 'SC' in Scientist/Engineer 'SC' is a grade designation, not a category reservation. ISRO's scientist hierarchy starts at grade 'SC' (the entry level), followed by SD, SE, SF, SG, and SH at senior levels. Scientist/Engineer 'SC' means the entry-level grade — all candidates regardless of their reservation category (General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST) can apply. The 'SC' here has nothing to do with the Scheduled Caste reservation category.

Question Icon

What is the minimum percentage/CGPA required for ISRO Scientist/Engineer 2026?

Minimum 65% aggregate marks in B.E./B.Tech. (relevant discipline). If your university uses a CGPA system on a 10-point scale, the equivalent is CGPA 6.84/10 (as specified by ISRO). If your university uses a different scale (7-point, 4-point, etc.), convert using your university's official percentage conversion formula — the underlying threshold is 65% marks. This applies to all posts (BE001 to BE007 and BE004A). Check your official mark sheets and degree for the exact aggregate.

All data sourced from ISRO Scientist/Engineer Recruitment 2026 notification (Advt ISRO:ICRB:02(EMC-CEPO):2026, isro.gov.in). Vacancy math verified: 34+26+13+10+4+2+2+1 = 92 ✓. Source heading error noted: The selection process section in the source was headed "ISRO Assistant, UDC, JPA, Stenographer Recruitment 2026" — this is a copy-paste carry-over error in the aggregator source; the selection stages (Shortlisting → Interview → DV → Medical) are consistent with ISRO Scientist/Engineer recruitment practice. Age relaxation for OBC/SC/ST in BE001–BE003 not explicitly shown in source — standard ISRO relaxation is expected but candidates must verify from the official notification. CGPA 6.84/10 is carried as stated in the source. PRL (BE004A) is an autonomous body under Department of Space — posting at PRL Ahmedabad, not an ISRO centre. CoA Registration requirement for BE007 is as per source. ResultDekho is not affiliated with ISRO or the Department of Space. Always verify at isro.gov.in. Last Updated: 30 July 2026.
