The Indian Army has released the notification for the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES-56) for the January 2027 batch. 90 vacancies are open for unmarried male candidates who have passed Class 12 with minimum 60% in PCM and appeared in JEE Mains 2026. This is a direct officer-entry route — no separate written exam. Shortlisting is on JEE Mains 2026 Common Rank List (CRL), followed by 5-day SSB Interview. Selected candidates get 4-year training, a free B.Tech degree, and Permanent Commission as Lieutenant with ₹56,100/month salary.

• Physically fit — 2.4 km run in 10:30 min, 40 push-ups, 6 pull-ups on arrival for training

• Female candidates → TES-56 is for Unmarried Males only

• Did NOT appear in JEE Mains 2026 → Ineligible regardless of PCM percentage

• PCM aggregate below 60% → Not eligible

🎯 Selection Process — No Written Exam

1. JEE Mains 2026 CRL-based Shortlisting First Cut

   Integrated HQ MoD (Army) shortlists candidates based on JEE Mains 2026 Common Rank List (CRL). A cut-off is fixed without stating reasons. Shortlisted candidates notified via email and can log in to JIA website to select SSB centre (first-come, first-served). Tentative shortlist cutoff publication: first week of July 2026.
   

2. SSB Interview — 5 Days ⭐ Final Merit Based on This Only

   Conducted at one of 4 SSB Centres: Prayagraj (UP) · Bhopal (MP) · Bengaluru (Karnataka) · Jalandhar (Punjab). Stage I (Day 1): OIR test + PPDT — non-qualifiers returned same day. Stage II (Days 2–5): Psychology tests (TAT, WAT, SRT, SD) + GTO tasks (Group Discussions, Command Task, Obstacles, Snake Race, Lecturette) + Personal Interview + Conference. Final merit list based on SSB marks ONLY — JEE score is NOT carried forward.
   

3. Medical Examination Qualifying

   SSB-recommended candidates undergo detailed medical at designated Military Hospitals. Vision, hearing, fitness checked. Medically unfit candidates can appeal to Appeal Medical Board.
   

4. Merit List + Joining Letter

   Final merit list prepared on SSB marks. Joining letters issued in merit order. Candidates fill three CTW preferences (CME Pune, MCTE Mhow, MCEME Secunderabad) — allotment by Army. Course begins 01 January 2027.

⚠️ Critical Instructions

• PCM% must be exact to 2 decimal places. Do NOT round off. 62.33 → enter 62.33. Entering 63 instead of 62.33 = automatic rejection at any stage.

• Last date is 12 June 2026 at 12:00 Noon (1200 hrs) — not 11:59 PM. The portal closes at noon. Apply well before this time.

• Only ONE application allowed per candidate. Multiple applications = automatic cancellation of all applications. Submit carefully and finalize before submitting.

• SSB centre allotted on first-come, first-served basis after shortlisting login. Log in immediately after shortlist is published (1st week July 2026) to get your preferred centre.

• Final merit for joining order is based on SSB marks ONLY. JEE Mains score is only for shortlisting — it does NOT contribute to final merit.

• Keep JEE Mains 2026 scorecard, Class 10 certificate, Class 12 certificate, and 20 passport-size photographs ready for SSB interview.

• Zero fee for all categories. No payment required. Anyone demanding money for Army TES application is a scammer.

• A low JEE score does not automatically disqualify you — shortlisting is relative to the applicant pool. If JEE score is modest but PCM % is strong, still apply.
