Preliminary Exam — 100 Marks, 2 Hours ⭐
100 objective MCQs: 40 GK/Current Affairs + 60 Technical questions (choose one group: EC / ECT / IT / Electrical & Electronics). Polytechnic level. Negative marking: -0.2 per wrong answer. Minimum 30% to qualify. Top 20× vacancies (category-wise) go to Mains.
Mains Exam — 2 Papers ⭐ Merit-deciding Stage
Paper I (General Language): 100 marks · 1.5 hrs · 50 General Hindi + 50 General English MCQs (Intermediate level). Minimum 30 marks to qualify. Marks NOT added to merit. Paper II (Technical): 100 marks · 3 hrs · 100 MCQs from chosen technical group (EC/ECT/IT/EE). Polytechnic level. Minimum 33% to qualify. Merit based purely on Paper II marks. Negative marking: -0.2 both papers.
PST + PET (Physical Standard & Efficiency Test) — Qualifying
Top 5× vacancies (category-wise) from Mains Paper II marks called for PST/PET. Both qualifying only — no marks. Must pass all events individually.
Merit List + Document Verification + Medical
Final merit based on Mains Paper II marks only. Tie-breaker: DOB (older candidate preferred) → educational qualification → qualifying exam marks → alphabetical order of name.
